About
This text is primarily a personal effort to organize my ideas. Writing forces me to think and structure my thoughts. Writing allows me to address ideas one by one, without being overwhelmed, while connecting them through Obsidian.
I hope that this helps to bring forth the outlines of an idea that seems powerful and realistic, a form of democratic and participatory government, protected from abuses of power and corruption, where people choose their future together.
The name "Software Democracy" is not perfect, but it emphasizes the technological aspect that is inseparable from the concept: it is about programming democracy to protect it, to protect us!
Written in my free time, the Software Democracy exists for now only in the form of incomplete text, even if the essentials are starting to be there. The idea itself is hardly developed enough to allow concrete projects to be envisioned:
Founding texts
- Drafting a first version of the Universal Constitution.
- Drafting the first National Constitutions.
Digital identity
- Implementation of a public key authority to support digital identities: official, pseudonymous, and anonymous.
- Development of an application allowing the user to interact with this authority to access and control the use of their identity/identities.
Political system
- Implementation of a voting platform:
- Based on blockchain.
- Allowing citizens to obtain and use voting tokens using their official digital identity.
- Recording laws and information about their adoption in the blockchain.
- Adoption of a social network for public and open debate on ongoing proposals and votes.
Economic system
- Design and launch of the global blockchain.
- Design and launch of a national blockchain model.
- Development of wallets that will allow holders of a digital identity (official or not) to create their account on these blockchains, carry out transactions, store their property titles (NFT), and perform financial operations (credits, investments...).
- Programming of the first taxation and redistribution rules.
Behind each of these lines lies a more or less significant project, with more or less problems to solve... This can no longer be a personal endeavor, and so I am publishing this text as a call to those who would be interested in contributing to the realization of the idea.
