Net Neutrality

Software democracy is a founding principle of the internet. It ensures that operators only provide access to the network without discrimination towards users or content. It guarantees that every individual who accesses the internet accesses the same thing!

Of course, this open nature is not suitable for operators who wish to be able to charge their services differently, or for states and international organizations that wish to control the content and interventions of users.

Net neutrality is therefore currently a lost battle, as illustrated by the Digital Service Act, which will make operators directly responsible for enforcing censorship rules in Europe.

Restoring net neutrality will be an essential decision on the path to Software Democracy.
