Growth or Decline

Software Democracy aims for an economy of abundance.

This may seem paradoxical when we hear about carbon footprints, overpopulation or energy sobriety every day.

Yet this is a deeply philosophical question: do we have faith in ourselves and in the future? Shouldn't our intellectual resources, creativity and abundant energy at our disposal lead us to optimism?

By choosing abundance, and in particular energy abundance, we allow ourselves to:

"Net Zero", the new name for degrowth, makes energy costs explode, sets up a universal carbon pass, limits travel and individual freedoms.

net-zero.jpeg Even more vain as it is Western (the BRICS will not hesitate for a second between growth and carbon impact...), the project will have no other effect than to accelerate the decline of the West. It is actually genocide in preparation, a major crime against humanity!

Is this excessive? Here is one way to present things: if everything becomes more expensive due to the rise in energy costs, and incomes do not increase (profits are no longer redistributed), how will the poorest and most vulnerable heat themselves? Feed themselves? Get medical treatment? Not to mention carbon taxes... It is not a massacre on a battlefield but the abandonment of the poorest that will lead to the premature death of millions of people. But after all, "What to do with all these useless people?"...

The economy of abundance, on the other hand, acknowledges the contribution and ingenuity of past generations, expresses our faith in our capacities - never in default - to solve problems, and offers future generations the optimistic perspective of an abundant and sustainable world.

And what about climate change?
