Blockchain

Quick overview of the functions implementable in a blockchain, in the perspective of Digital Democracy.

Currency

The first interesting aspect is obviously the use of blockchain as a distributed wallet, allowing secure and programmable transactions.

Depending on the needs, one can use blockchains intensive in computing and hyper-secure (e.g. Bitcoin), programmable blockchains like Ethereum, or blockchains oriented towards performance and instant transactions.

The currency of Digital Democracy must be fungible and allow anonymous transactions, making it a functional equivalent of cash in terms of Privacy. However, these transactions will not escape the economic rules decided by the population; just because transactions are anonymous doesn't mean they are not taxable!

NFT - Property titles

The blockchain also allows to register in an infalsifiable way unique documents (Non Fungible Tokens), which are the property titles of tomorrow.

The association of an NFT with a Digital identity, whether official or pseudonymous / anonymous, will guarantee its owner the recognition of the property title and allow him to dispose of it freely.

Voting

The nature of the blockchain makes it an ideal registry to host and store the voting process of Software Democracy.

The integration of a blockchain into the voting software of Software Democracy, associated with the verification of digital identity of the citizen, will thus make the votings hyper-secure, incorruptible and transparent.
