Bitcoin

At first glance, Bitcoin is a serious candidate for the status of global reserve currency.

However, its deflationary aspect is not compatible with the economy of abundance that Software Democracy wants: who would use a deflationary currency in a rapidly growing world?

Moreover, the initial distribution of Bitcoin does not allow its use in an international project: the majority of Bitcoins have already been mined and distributed (or lost).

On the other hand, a large part of its code, extremely robust and proven, could be reused as a foundation, finely adjusting its monetary issuance rules to allow for inflation that would follow economic growth.

Finally, nothing prevents the coexistence of Bitcoin with the future global reserve currency!
